As per recent update, the Maharashtra state government is expected to take a final decision about reopening of colleges in the state by January-end. Higher Education Minister Uday Samant confirmed this development during a meeting with college principals and other stakeholders. During the meeting he also added that currently, the higher education department officials have been asked to take feedback and COVID-19 situation review from officials deputed at District and Zilla Parishad levels.
However, the decision will be made known after consulting the CM, said the minister. Samant made the statement during a meeting with college principals and other stakeholders. He was speaking on a live social medial platform
Mr Samant also added that while in-principals the preparations are underway for reopening of colleges in the state, the final decision about the same would be taken only after consulting Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackarey. As part of the preparatory process, officials have also been instructed to review the condition of colleges and schools that were being used as quarantine centres in the next 10 days and submit a detailed report to the department
